Every year autumn comes and makes the whole country shine with its beautiful colors. It is the time when everyone starts to make their home comfortable and cozy. In no other season do people love being in their own four walls so much, drinking a warm tea, lighting lots of fragrant candles and making themselves really comfortable on the couch. This year, at least so far, it seems that we will experience a wonderful "Golden Autumn". For me there is simply nothing more beautiful than walking through these beautiful, large, colorful leaves in pure sunshine and being inspired by the diversity of nature. In keeping with the season and the super trendy topic: pumpkins, I have created a DIY project for you. I am usually one who prefers the simpler and minimalist version. But this time there is a little more color and lots of beautiful flowers, which just had to be there in this beautiful autumn. And here are the instructions for copying:
For this you need:
- A round, large pumpkin
- A matching vase
- Silver spray paint
- White paint color
- Many colorful flowers to taste
- Knife for cutting out
- Wire for tying the flowers
- Water for the flowers
After you have everything ready, start painting the pumpkin. I bought a normal spray paint. It actually works really well and dries very quickly. If your pumpkin has a large stem, you don't have to paint it, as it will be cut off later anyway. After your pumpkin is completely dry, you can pour the paint over the pumpkin. You can use more or less depending on your taste. The best way to get the dripping effect is to start at the top and turn the glass around the pumpkin once.
Once the varnish has completely dried, you can start cutting. Depending on how high you want your pumpkin to be, cut off the top part of the pumpkin, like a lid. So that the vase will fit in later, the pumpkin will of course have to be emptied. I put the pumpkin seeds to one side to dry. Pumpkin seeds are very healthy and taste very good too. So don't throw the seeds away. :)
Now we can make a beautiful bouquet out of our flowers and put the vase in the pumpkin. It's best to tie the flowers together with a wire, as this will make them more stable than with a ribbon. Now just put the flower bouquet in the vase filled with water and voilà, your beautiful pumpkin decoration is ready.
Now you can place the decorated pumpkin anywhere you like. If you put the pumpkin outside, please make sure that the flowers are suitable for outdoor use. My bouquet has lasted two weeks now and still looks great. Of course, you also have to remember that these are real cut flowers, so you'll have to change them again at some point. But autumn doesn't last that long and then winter is back again. And until then, these flowers are definitely worth it. :)
